A Christmas Story

Imagine "Have yourself a Merry Little Chirstmas" playing in the background. You walk down the street bundled in a scarf, a hat, and a thick coat. Fairy lights twinkle all around. The cold air bites at your cheek and you try to burry your nose in your scarf as you continue walking forwards. You look down at your hands and notice a warm cup filled with rich hot chocolate has appeared between your fingers. The heat radiates into your hand and the sweet vapor kisses the skin on your face. You can hear the sound of carolers near by so you continue moving forwards. You take a sip of the hot coco and are instantly filled with warmth from the inside out. You've walked far enough now that you can see the carolers bunched up together, holding up their notes in the middle of a square. A crowd has gathered around them and you feel compelled to do the same. So you stand there with your hot coco in hand, surrounded by twinkling lights, as the notes float about the air and you slowly start to sing along.

Everything seems so light and new around the Christmas time. Everywhere you go there seems to be a feeling of anticipation, like something great is about to happen, or happening or happened. The world seems to freeze and the problems seem to dissipate as we crowd around each other drinking warm drinks and wearing warm clothes. I don't want to get too cheesy on you but I've been thinking a lot lately about what exactly makes this time of the year so magical and I've realized that I can seldom recall any of the gifts that I've gotten on December the 25th every year. Instead I can bombard you with detailed accounts of the places where I've spent Christmas, the people who were around me, what we did, how I felt and the moments and memories we made. Cheesy warning here again, but  I think its safe to say that those are the things that enchant this time of the year, having people around you to celebrate and share the time with.

So no, I am not coming to you today with a "last minute gift guide" or a "holiday shopping" post. (Just an aside note here though, I saw I gift guide post on the pinterest the other day that had gift categories for men, children and stocking stuffers. It tickled some part of me as I wondered at the fact that women as a whole seemed to be excluded from this post.) Instead, I come with warm wishes for a happy and blessed Christmas time. May you be surrounded by love and comfort and may you always be able to see all of the blessings that surround you on Christmas and on everyday of the new year!

In Puerto Rico, we also celebrate Three King's Day on January the 6th so a warm Happy Three King's Day to you as well<3

Love,

LaianaIsabel

LaianaIsabel
