Walking for Breast Cancer

Good Saturday Night!

Today was Lake Eola, FL's breast cancer awareness walk. I participated as a member of my school's science honor society. In total we raised $300 dollars to donate to the American Cancer Association towards breast cancer research. We walked 3 miles through down town Orlando. The walk started at 9am and ended at 11am with a blazing sun and sweat dripped shirts.

There were all kinds of people with their dogs dressed in pink tutus. There were those who dyed their hair pink, wore puffy pink wigs, put their carefully decorated bras on the outside of their shirts, wore pink capes and sparkly pink hats. It was amazing to see this entire community get together for this cause.

The amount of people was so huge that the traffic was clogged which brings memories of a fight that happened in the middle of street after one car apparently hit the other ever so slightly but that's a different story.
There were over 50,000 people in Lake Eola this morning. Now that is success.

Here are some pictures:)

Don't forget, we are supporting breast cancer this month as well. Visit my etsy shop or my society6 print shop to find my breast cancer painting art collection for sale. Part of the profit will be donated towards breast cancer research and patients.

It has been amazing to see how so many people put their grain of sand for this cause. Students at my high school have pinned pink ribbons to their shirts and backpacks. Ellen DeGeneres, the amazing talk show host, has posted countless pictures in the campaign against breast cancer.
We are painting the world pink this month and we will not stop until we have cure!
As Ellen said "I don't plan to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Month every year. Just until there's a cure."

Have a wonderful week!
