Sophisticated Cork Board

Greetings:)

I hope that this post finds you well and happy. I wanted to write to talk about this amazing cork board I bought that I am extremely in love with!! I bet you'll fall for it too:

Okay, now I need to clear somethings up. I did not buy this cork board, I actually found it and it looked somewhat like the one below except mine was beaten down, stained and just plain ugly (I forgot to take a before picture:/)

So... for the tutorial part! How to get this beautiful, designer cork board for under $10?

Steps Explained:
1. Paint the whole cork board with base color (in my case I used this aqua greenish blueish color)
2. Use one sponge per color to avoid getting mixed colors and having to clean constantly.
3. Hold stencil onto the board and color all around. NOTE: Be careful to not color to much beyond the area around the stencil because you may cover extra space. Use the top color for this part (in my case, gold)

Now, for the little touch ups. To create a complete and finished look I painted the frame of my cork board brown with regular paint, careful to stay within the lines. For an extra accent I hung a thin rope along the bottom with little clothes pin to hang pictures and more. Another add on was the notepad. I pinned it on to the board using flat headed push pins in the back carton part of he pad.

That's pretty much it!:) I hope you enjoyed my little artsy post!

With much love,

Laiana I.<3
